The Conviction arc is set in the Tower of Conviction, a Holy See stronghold that doubles as a torture chamber. Miura drew its arches from real-world Gothic cathedrals — Reims, Chartres, the cracked rose windows of bombed-out Cologne.
We keep a folder on the studio wall: photographs of stained glass, rubbings of medieval brass, a colour study of the long red that runs through Dürer's engravings. It is the visual register we draw from when laying out a new drop.
